Arthur Mervyn Peacock (1916-2003) was born in the family home near Alliance, Alberta to Newton and Minerva Peacock. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in November 1941 at the age of 24. He was an Aero Engine Mechanic and was stationed in Lethbridge, Calgary, and Trenton, Ontario. On July 1st, 1945, at the age of 29 he was given an Honourable Discharge.
After the war, Art married Betty Fuller and raised a family of four in a mixed family operation in Alliance, Alberta. He was a leader in his community including the Lions Club, Valley Ski Club, Masonic Lodge, and Shriners. He was a proud member and Past President (many times) of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 94 in Alliance.
He spent his final and pleasurable years (November 2000 to December 2003) at the Pemmican Lodge in Lethbridge.
