Arthur Redshaw was born 17 July 1896 in Hull, England. He immigrated to Canada with his parents, brother John, and sisters Margaret and Olive. Later another sister Ivy, was born in Canada. Arthur worked for a time at the Lethbridge Herald. He was also involved with the band of the Salvation Army in Lethbridge. He joined the Lethbridge 113th Battalion (Lethbridge Highlanders). He served in the 31st Battalion upon arrival in France. He was injured after the Battle of Vimy Ridge and recovered. On 9 August 1918 Arthur Redshaw was killed in action.
His brother John also died while a German Prisoner of War.
