Cyril S. Morgan was born June 3, 1914 in Lethbridge. Following school he worked for the Telegraph Office from 1931 to 1939 delivering telegrams, and from 1939 to 1941 for Lethbridge Sash and Door. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force on May 15, 1941 and served in it until 1945. In November 1941 he left Halifax for Bournemouth, England. Cyril then deployed from England on 15 April 1942 for North Africa where he was confronted with temperatures of up to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. He served in North Africa (including Egypt), Malta, Sicily, and Italy. He returned to Bournemouth, England on January 4th, 1945 and Canada in February 1945. During his service he attained the rank of Corporal. After his discharge he worked for the Post Office and was married in 1947 to Louise. They had three boys and one daughter. He eventually became a painter and owned, in partnership, a painting company. Cyril died January 30th, 1983.
