Fred Carl Ully was born December 24, 1918 in Birdsholm, Alberta. During WW II he joined the Canadian Army in March 1942. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Artillery. Later due to his father being ill he was sent home to run the farm. When he returned back to the Army his comrades who had served with him had already deployed overseas. Not wanting to deploy with soldiers he did not know Fred was given a position training soldiers. He was discharged from the Army in September 1945. After the war he went back to the farm and his mother and father moved to Lethbridge. In 1952 Fred and his family moved to Pincher Creek (Fishburn District) where he farmed until his retirement. Upon retirement Fred and his wife moved to the Town of Pincher Creek. Fred died January 9th, 2012 and is buried in the Lethbridge Mountain View Cemetery. Fred Carl Ully is the father of Diane Cote who is a resident of Lethbridge.
