George Haywood Waverley MacDuff was born 23 November 1891 to George and Elrid MacDuff, of Waverley, Nova Scotia. He was working as a car inspector before joining up with Lethbridge’s 20th Overseas Field Battery Canadian Field Artillery as a Gunner. He was injured on the field of battle and evacuated suffering from Gun Shot Wounds. He died soon after arriving at Number 3 Australian Casualty Clearing Station in Belgium 30 October 1917.
