George Wilson enlisted in the Canadian Army on June 20th 1941 at #13 District Depot Lethbridge. He served in the Royal Canadian Artillery in Canada, the United Kingdom, the Central Mediterranean, and Continental Europe. His service decorations included the 1939-46 Star, France and Germany Star, Defence Medal, and Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp. George was married and they had eight children and later adopted one. He worked after the war as a gas attendant. George was active in the Lethbridge Fish and Game Association, was a councillor for Junior Forest Wardens, and was a foster parent to many children. On his 100th birthday he was honoured by a drive by where he was saluted by the Chief of Police and the 20th Independent Field Battery RCA. He passed away in 2021.
