Gerald Kyllo grew up in Turner Valley, AB and enlisted in the RCAF regular force in July 1957. He graduated as an Armament Systems Technician. Gerry then started work in Winnipeg as a Radar Technician and was later transferred to Zweibruken, Germany to work on Sabre aircraft. While in Germany the Cuban Missile Crisis occurred and the building of the Berlin Wall. His next transfer was to Marville, France where he once again worked on Sabre aircraft. After 3 years in Europe he was posted back to Canada as a Missile Technician on Bomarc Missiles. He finished his military service as a Flight Trainer Technician and was honorably released in May 1966. Gerry worked for Alberta Government Telephones from 1966 to 1994, then worked with the Commissionaires until retiring in 2006.

Only 90 additional (over and above the 2023 banners) will be displayed in the lead up to the 2024 Remembrance Day so sponsorships will again be available on a first come first served basis.
