Gerald Lee Watson known as “Doc” was born October 11, 1920 in Magrath. He served from 1940 to 1945 in the Royal Canadian Air Force as a chief flight engineer in the rank of Corporal for 421 Squadron (known as the Red Indian Squadron) which was part of 127 Wing. After his discharge, he married Mary McLean of Raymond and worked as a plumber inspector for the province of Alberta. Gerald and Mary had 5 children: Collin, Brad, Kerry, Patty, and Daryn. They lived and retired in Lethbridge. Gerald Watson died on October 29, 2003.

Only 90 additional (over and above the 2023 banners) will be displayed in the lead up to the 2024 Remembrance Day so sponsorships will again be available on a first come first served basis.
