Charlie was born in 1897 in Leicester, England. He came to Saskatchewan in the 1920s and worked on farms in various locations until he settled in the Gylnfield district, north of Plunkett. He married Elizabeth Smith of England – quite literally off the boat, and together, they raised three children. Because of Charlie’s service in the Army during WWI, he applied for and was accepted as the postmaster of Plunkett. Charlie died in 1932 and Elizabeth carried on until her retirement in 1962. Charlie is the grandfather of Brad and Geoff Cox and great grandfather of Jared Cox all of whom reside in Lethbridge.
