John Albert Gogo was born February 15th, 1932 in Toronto, Ontario.  He enlisted in the 1st Parachute Battery 1 Royal Canadian Horse Artillery (RCHA) at the age of 17. John served in the Korean War with the 81st Field Regiment, in Germany with 4 RCHA and he attained the rank of Sergeant before he left the Army in 1962.  John was a Member of the Legislative Assembly for Lethbridge West from 1975 to 1993 and served as Minister of Advanced Education from 1985 to 1992.  John was a respected member of the Community and received an Honorary Doctorate degree from the University of Lethbridge in 2007.  John was married to Joyce until his passing in 2015 and they had 5 children, 14 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren.
