P.O. John H. Clarke was born in Radville, Saskatchewan in 1920. He joined the Royal Canadian Navy in May 1940 and served 7 years. His main theatre during the war was escorting convoys overseas, for which he received the Oak Leaf for distinguished service. He married Jean Anderson in 1945. John served in Esquimalt, BC for his last 15 months of service. Their oldest son was born in Victoria. They returned to Radville in 1947 at which time he began a life-long career as Post Master. Three more sons were born in Radville. He was transferred to Coaldale, Alberta in 1966 and then to Pincher Creek in 1971. Their only daughter was born in Lethbridge. They retired to Lethbridge in 1982, moved to Kelowna in 1983 and then back to Lethbridge in 2001. John passed away in December 2003.
