John Rohovie was born in Coalhurst on November 21, 1922. He attended school there and after graduating enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force. He served active service from November 1942 and was honourably discharged in October 1945, transferring to the reserves. He was stationed in Calgary, Toronto, Winnipeg and Pearse. He trained as an engine mechanic. Upon his discharge, John worked in Lethbridge at Western Grocers Ltd., Scott National Ltd. and then owned and operated J.R. Security at Palliser Distillers. John married Margaret Asuchak and they had seven children: Patrick, Greg, David, Cathy, Joanie, Tim and Tom. He passed away in June 1992.
