John Leon was born in Lethbridge on November 2, 1917 and died in Lethbridge in September 23, 2003 at the age of 85 years old. Before WW2, John was employed as a motor mechanic.
He joined the Lethbridge 112th Battery and served overseas with the 6th Light Anti- Aircraft Regiment. He married his wife Mary, in Scotland during the war. After the war he returned to Lethbridge to settle down with his wife.
John received employment with Alberta Government Telephones (AGT) and worked the Southern Alberta area. He retired after 35 years of service. John also served with the 33rd Field Reserve Engineer Squadron in Lethbridge and reached the rank of Sargeant.
John was actively involved in executive positions with the Royal Canadian Legion Lethbridge Branch as well as many other organizations.
