Joseph was born March 9,1922 in Hardieville. He enlisted in the Canadian Army in December 1941. He served with the 112th Light Anti-Aircraft Battery Royal Canadian Artillery, a unit formed in Lethbridge. He held positions as a dispatch rider and gunner serving in England, France,Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany until 1946. He met and married Mary Kane in January 1946. His war bride followed him to Canada. Joe worked various jobs and retired from the Alberta Government. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus – Fourth Degree. They raised four children, Margaret, Maureen, Patricia (Paddy) and Kevin in Lethbridge. Joe passed away December 25 2010.
