Lillian Margaret Parry was born in Cardiff, Wales, in 1900. She was always involved in public health and was instrumental in establishing the Victoria Order of Nurses in Lethbridge. Lillian was one of the original members of the Canadian Auxiliary Territorial Service (CATS) Women’s Territorial Reserve. She served with the Army Medical Corps for the duration of World War Two and served in the Regular Army Service from January 1943 to October 1945. She made 12 Atlantic crossings on the hospital ship Leticia, one of them a mercy trip to return seriously wounded German POWs to France. She finished the war with the rank of Lieutenant Nursing Sister. Lillian worked closely with veterans as a liaison to the City of Lethbridge as a council member. She was also a proud member of RCL General Stewart Branch #4 Lethbridge. Lillian passed away on November 10, 1990.
