Roderick McLeod was born August 15, 1936 in Vancouver, British Columbia (BC). After graduating from Prince George Senior High School he enrolled in the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1956. Roderick went on to serve in St Jean, Quebec; Aylmer, Ontario; #2 Fighter Wing at Grostenquin, France; Greenwood, Nova Scotia; and North Bay, Ontario. He retired from the regular force in 1964. He then attended officer training in Vernon, BC to become a Cadet Instructor List officer and worked with the Rocky Mountain Rangers Army Cadet Corps in Salmon Arm, BC and the British Columbia Dragoon Army Cadet Corps in Vernon, BC. Roderick in later years worked as a volunteer with the Bold Eagle programme and for several years presented Metis cultural sessions at Canadian Forces Base Wainwright. Roderick is a proud member of the Aboriginal Veterans Association of Alberta.

Banner applications for 2023 are closed. Applications for 2024 are now being accepted. They must be received no later than June 30th, 2024. Only 90 additional (over and above the 2023 banners) will be displayed in the lead up to the 2024 Remembrance Day so sponsorships will again be available on a first come first served basis.
