Colonel, The Honourable Judge Ron Jacobson, CD is one of the most distinguished Lethbridge reservists of the last half decade. In 1959 he joined the 33rd Field Squadron Royal Canadian Engineers as a Sapper. He then transferred to the 18th Field Regiment Royal Canadian Artillery in 1960 and later served in several command positions. He commanded the Southern Alberta Militia District and was Colonel Commandant of the Royal Canadian Artillery from 1991 to 1995.
He has given generously of his time to many other military and community related organizations. Colonel Jacobson was President of the Royal Canadian Artillery Association, a charter member of the Lethbridge United Services Institute, just to name a few. His community involvement has included service with many organizations such as church organizations, the 1975 Canada Winter Games, and Lethbridge Community College Foundation.
A lawyer by profession Colonel Jacobson was appointed as a Judge of the Provincial Court of Alberta in 1979 retiring after three decades of service.
